As Principle Designer, we had to ensure that all Health & Safety procedures were strictly adhered to, as the original farm buildings were to be demolished before any excavation works could be started. We informed the H.S.E. when the works would commence and the expected time on site for the contractor to complete the build.
All Health & Safety paperwork was completed and the file kept on site as it’s a working document throughout the project, which enables the contractor to update the paperwork required from any sub-contractor attending site, such as insurances, Method Statements and Risk Assessments. We visited site unannounced throughout the project to check that the H&S procedures were being followed as per the paperwork created, and very pleased that they were.
